Olivier applies modern numerical ecology methods to describe and analyze spatial and temporal variations in the α, β and γ diversity of benthic fauna communities monitored by the observatory. These variations are modeled statistically according to those of environmental parameters as well as spatial and temporal functions. I evaluate the performance of numerical approaches and data acquisition protocols, and strive to propose improvements if necessary. He is involved in the analysis of the database Benthos RESOMAR, on datasets tracking benthic fauna at the scale of metropolitan France from the early 1960s to today. He trains students of the SML Master, mention SBM, in the treatment of uni-, bi- and multi-dimensional biological data.
